What is Eid ul Azha?

In Pakistan and other parts of the world, the religious festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm as people start the day by offering Eid prayers. One of the main traditions of the festival is the sacrifice of an animal, usually a goat, sheep, cow, or what is known as Qurbani, as an act of obedience to Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) to sacrifice his son. This is done in memory of the wish. Allah swt.

The flesh of the sacrificial animal is then divided into three parts, one-third is kept by the sacrificial family, one-third is given to relatives and friends, and the remaining one-third is distributed among the poor and needy.

During the major festival, families and friends hold get-togethers to share food, exchange gifts, and engage in social activities. The festive atmosphere continues for several days, with people visiting each other's homes and participating in community events.
