Philosophy's Man of Thought and Islam's Man of 'Aqeedah are compared.
Philosophy's Man of Thought and Islam's Man of 'Aqeedah are compared.
Before getting off topic, let me stress that we need men of character.
not persons of philosophy, but 'aqeedah. Philosophers cannot deal with the ills and issues that this ummah faces, so we need someone who can.
The impact of philosophy and 'aqeedah on a person's life was compared by Professor AJ:unad Ameen (may Allah have mercy on him).
Having an opinion and believing in something are two very different things. When you believe something, it permeates your heart and mind deeply. If you just have an opinion, it merely becomes part of the information you have stored.
"I think this is correct, but in actuality it may be erroneous; this is what the evidence leads to today, but tomorrow," a philosopher with an opinion once said. The evidence may be inconclusive; one may be mistaken about something or one may be right.
But, a person who adheres to a faith is definitive and assured; he has no uncertainties and refrains from speculation. His 'aqeedah is unchanging and will remain unchanging tomorrow. Evidence no longer needs to be presented. It is beyond questions and speculation.
The person who has an opinion or makes inferences is emotionless and unenthusiastic. If what he believes is confirmed to be true, he simply grins restrainedly; if it is not, he frowns.
The person who has philosophical assessment may effortlessly alter his perspective
what's more, embrace new ideas, on the grounds that he just follows evidence, or his own
interests when they come as proof. However, the most ideal way to
portray the person who follows冶qeedahis the manner by which the
Courier described:
"Assuming the sun were to be put in my right hand and the
moon in my left, to cause me to spurn what 1 have
brought, 1 wouldn't do as such. ,,55
Simple assessment resembles a dead body; it is dormant except if it is imbued with
the breath of'αqeedah. Simple assessment resembles a dull cavern which
stays dim except if 'aqeedah sparkles its beams into it. Simple assessment is
like a stale lake in which mosquitoes lay their eggs. 'Aqeedah,
on the other hand, resembles an immense sea where irrelevant bugs are
not permitted to increase.
Simple assessment is an unformed nebula, while 'aqeedah is a brilliantly
sparkling star.
Simple assessment makes issues and obstac1es, focuses on
physical desire, brings up issues and encourages hesitation, while "αqeedah
disregards danger, causes mountains to悦 mble, changes the
co ofhistory, clears out uncertainty and hesitation, and induces
strength and assurance; it allows only the satisfaction of the
points of the sou1. 56
